Into the Wild
Yoga Safari Retreat
and
Gorilla Trek

Tanzania & Rwanda
August 3-13, 2026

Join Whole Image Wellness, Go Farther Travel, and Kindred Safaris on an adventure across two of the most majestic locations in East Africa: Tanzania and Rwanda. Your trip will begin in the parks of Northern Tanzania where you will experience the greatest concentration of free roaming wildlife in the world within the most diverse regions in Tanzania that includes the Serengeti and the amazing Ngorongoro Crater. We will then transfer to Rwanda, arriving in Kigali where you will be immersed in the culture of this beautiful city prior to exploring the rain forests of Rwanda where we will follow in the footsteps of primatologist Dian Fossey who studied the mountain gorillas of the Volcanoes National Park region.

The Into the Wild Yoga Safari Retreat & Gorilla Trek is a chance to explore your adventurous, wild side through yoga, meditation, breathwork, and of course, animal safaris. Cultivate your wild spirit through an invigorating pranayama morning practice. Enliven your animal senses with game drive meditations. Cherish your connection to the landscape with intuitive flows set in these natural habitats.

We are then off to the Volcanoes National Park area, where guides will lead us

As with vaccinations, please consult your physician(s) regarding medications, as every individuals health needs are different. Below is some general information to consider when consulting with your physician, which is based on our experience. • Malaria medication: Atovaquone-Proguanil 250-100 has been tolerated well. • What amount of cash and tips do you recommend?
Below are some recommendations on gratuities for the Safari portion, and the amount/denomination of US cash to bring with you on your trip. Note that these are only guidelines as tips are optional. • Driver guides share tips equally, so a recommended range for tipping your guides is $150-$250 per traveler and can be given to the main driver guide at the end of the trip (note: there maybe an assistant guide on your trip). • Lodges: $10-$15 per night per person. Each lodge has a tip box typically located next to the front desk. For multiple days at the same location you can tip on the last day of stay. Tips for meals are not necessary or expected. • Laundry Services: If you are planning to use the laundry services at the lodges (most have them), figure an average of $1-$2 per item for the service, and a tip of 10% of the total bill. Plan your laundering to occur on the first day of a multiple day stay. Your guides will help you coordinate. • Misc: There will be various people at lodges helping with getting luggage of the vehicles, so just like in the States, we typically tip $1-$2 per traveler on each occurrence. A good estimate would be a maximum of $30 per traveler for the entire trip. • Cash: You will want $20-$100s if you decide to tip the driver guides, and $1s, $5s, and $10s for everything else. We have never had a problem using our Visa or MasterCard in Tanzania/Rwanda if you plan ahead with your bank. Credit cards (Visa and MC) can also be used for gifts purchases, etc. The Tanzanian Schilling (TSh) and Rwandan Franc are the local currencies and trade at 2,300-to-$1 and 1,225-to-$1, respectively. For the Rwanda portion of the trip, the recommendations are: Rangers - $20 per person that will be shared with assistants. Trackers - $10 per person that will be shared with all trackers. Porters - $10 per person that will be shared with each porter in your group. Porters are not necessary but it is a source of income for locals. Driver Guide - $100-$150 per person for the entire trip. Lodge - $10-$15 per person per night.

IMPORTANT: You will need to bring a new, unmarked $100 bill for this purchase. Below is guidance for applying for the visa online. The online visa application process for Rwanda is very straightforward, costs $50, and can be done at THIS LINK. About Rochelle Avignon, Go Farther Travel

Retreat Leader & Travel Planner

Go Farther Travel founder, Rochelle Avignon, specializes in customizing bougie-on-a-budget itineraries for multi-destination trips. While she appreciates the desire to sit back, relax, and assume you’ll pass this way again, she knows that most people have budgets and limited vacation days. But she also realizes that planning such a vacation is daunting for most travelers. As a former supply and demand planner, she leaned on her experience of getting the right product to the right place at the right time and for the right price, switching out “product” for “people”. To date, she has planned vacations all over the world, including to Costa Rica, Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, Italy, Greece, Egypt, and more, creating unique experiences and seamless itineraries for both new and seasoned travelers.
